Sharpe believes there are at least three quarterbacks better than Prescott in the conference.

If you asked fans who the best quarterback is in the NFC is after the 2023-24 NFL season, the odds of hearing the name Dak Prescott are sky high. Rightfully so, the quarterback had himself an MVP-caliber year finishing with 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and a QBR of 72.7. He ranked atop the NFL in terms of QBR for most of the season but fell behind Brock Purdy towards the end of the season.
However, Shannon Sharpe, former NFL tight end and media personality begs to differ. On the recent episode of the Nightcap Show, he shared his thoughts on the quarterback situation in the NFC.
I would take Jordan Love over Dak Prescott. I would probably have Matthew Stafford. I put Jordan Love in two. I put Brock Purdy 3.Shannon Sharpe said
Sharpe’s criticism comes in light of ProFootballFocus’ list of top quarterbacks, which ranked Prescott as one of the best QBs in his conference. He fared well on the list which ranked players on the basis of their passing grade, big-time throws, and turnover-worthy play rate. Prescott scored 89.8 in terms of pass grade, had 37 throws in crunch time, and had a 2.0% turnover rate.
Dak Prescott is yet to perform at an elite level in the playoffs
The quarterbacks listed by Sharpe, Jordan Love, Matthew Stafford, and Brock Purdy made the playoffs. Purdy made it all the way to the Super Bowl, while Love and the Packers lost in the Divisional Round. Stafford on the contrary failed to make it past the Wild Card Round.

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys had a remarkable run through the regular season. However, the Wild Card round was far from ideal for them. In a game wherein the team was expected to win with relative ease, the Packers dominated them and delivered a shock defeat.
The argument for Prescott to be one of the best QBs in the NFC is diminished owing to his record in the playoffs. As he awaits a contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys, the rumor has been that the organization will judge his performance this season and take a call on his contract afterward.
