With MMA returning to New York after two decades its a huge blow to not have Rousey fighting to regain her status as the best.
The city to many is still the fighting capital of the world and the headlines had almost been written of Rousey’s return.
However Rousey’s male counterpart Conor McGregor has stated he wishes to fight after his thrilling win over Nate Diaz.

McGregor would likely be the first name on the card but there is huge doubt that he could headline the spectacle.
Fans have been waiting many years to see the sports biggest stars take centre stage at Maddison Square Gardens but are now left with the huge prospect of not seeing the very best fighters.
It will be a huge blow for UFC not to have the very best to showcase as the sports rapid increase in popularity famed mostly by the characters of the fighters and the brutality that erupts inside the arena.
