The combination of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion has proved to be a highly successful one. The two women are among the most famous names in hip-hop, and they’ve scored several chart hits together. This week, Cardi helps sales of Stallion’s new single with Glorilla explode after she joined a highly-anticipated remix. The reworking of Stallion and Glorilla’s “Wanna Be” includes Cardi, and it’s clear that her presence led to a massive sales spike for the tune. Last week, the song sold 13,124 copies in the U.S.

That’s a hefty sum for any track in America these days, but it’s made even more impressive when it’s compared to how the tune sold the week prior. The frame before Cardi jumped on the single, “Wanna Be” sold just 199 copies, according to Luminate. That means that once Cardi signed on and lent her talent and fame to “Wanna Be,” sales of the cut rocketed by 6,494%.

That’s a massive growth for only a few days, and it can easily be connected to the recently-released remix. All those purchases push “Wanna Be” to the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart. The track has previously topped the tally when it was new, and now it’s back inside the loftiest tier. Interestingly, while Cardi’s remix helped spur a buying frenzy for “Wanna Be,” she’s not credited on the tune.

Billboard adds an artist’s name to a song that’s already reached the charts if that updated version is the most popular.

That was apparently not the case, at least when it came to pure purchases, as the original take must have remained the most successful among all offered tracks. This week, “Wanna Be” reaches the top 10 on seven Billboard charts. The track nearly conquers several rap-focused lists, but this frame it had to compete with another, much bigger rap cut.

Eminem’s new single “Houdini” easily tops 10 rankings, beating Stallion and Glorilla to the summit.
