Mark Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham have been fans of the New England Patriots for the longest time. But that is no longer the case as his wife seems to have switched teams now that the Boston-based team has gone into a rebuilding phase.

The actor revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that he was in attendance for Super Bowl LVIII and that his wife was now a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. It is worth noting that Wahlberg and Durham have been married for over 14 years.

I was there for almost till the first half and then I was home within 15 minutes cause there's no traffic in Vegas. Drove home, watched Usher, watched the second half with my wife, who has now become a Chiefs fan. She turned on our Patriots.

Mark Wahlberg said

Wahlberg further elaborated that while his wife still likes the New England Patriots, she has put Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on the same pedestal. The actor does not mind this, but he is not a fan of the Chiefs because they are closing in on the Patriots to take the title of the best dynasty in all of football away from them.

Mark Wahlberg has been a huge fan of Tom Brady and the Patriots

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have won three Super Bowls in the last five years. Their dynasty is eerily similar to the manner in which Tom Brady and Bill Belichick led the Patriots to multiple championships.

I completely understand, I just don't like them (the Chiefs) because they're really creeping up on the Patriots really quickly when it comes to being the best.

Mahomes has a Hall-of-Fame tight end, similar to Brady who had Rob Gronkowski, and with three rings, they require 3 more to catch up to the Patriots, who achieved the feat between 2002 and 2019. In all honesty, Rhea Durham cannot be blamed for wanting to change her preferences.

The Patriots were just plain bad this season, winning just 4 games. Following the team’s recent struggles, owner Robert Kraft and HC Bill Belichick agreed to mutually part ways. With a new head coach, the team will now begin a new chapter in history. The Pats are in full rebuild mode as they remain without a quarterback.
