As soon as the 2024 NFL Draft began, the Chicago Bears having the No. 1 pick didn’t waste time in drafting the top prospect, Caleb Williams. And now as the young quarterback takes the lead of the Bears’ offense, he has already started showing his confidence in them.

In addition to Williams, the Bears made another big pick on a punter as they drafted Tory Taylor using the No. 122 pick– which is the highest draft pick used on a punter since 2019 when the San Francisco 49ers drafted Mitch Wishnowsky using their No. 110 pick.

Heading into the 2024 season, the Bears are all prepared. And Williams under the center expressed his confidence in his new team by sending a special message to the Bears’ new punter.

Hey, you're not going to punt too much here.

If Williams’ assurance materializes, then the game for Taylor would be entirely transformed. Given, he is coming off a season with the Hawkeyes, where he led the nation in punt attempts with 93 and total punt yards with 4,479.

This offseason, the Bears made many splashy moves. Apart from the USC star quarterback and Taylor, the franchise signed veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen and also drafted wideout Rome Odunze using their No. 9 pick.

Caleb Williams ready for the bright lights of Chicago

Ever since it became clear that the Bears had their eyes on the USC quarterback Williams, the spotlight landed on him and it hasn’t left to date. And now that he has officially been drafted by them as the No. 1 pick, the spotlight has grown brighter but the quarterback is all ready for it.

I’m always going to have scrutiny.

Caleb Williams said, a day after the NFL draft

After the Detroit Lions, the Bears are one of those teams with the longest Super Bowl drought. But with Williams’ addition, there appears to be a shift in the winds of Windy City.

The USC quarterback isn’t afraid of the high expectations from his first season in the NFL. In fact, Williams has previously stated that he is chasing Tom Brady’s record of being the winningest QB of all time, with seven Super Bowl rings.
