Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney puts complete blame on officials for denying TD in week 14 loss to the Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney faced a lot of criticism for his offensive offside that nullified one of the best plays in the history of the league. The Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills last Sunday at the Arrowhead Stadium. The game was in the balance throughout, but the Chiefs had a chance to take a lead late in the game. That is when Chiefs’ superstar TE Travis Kelce threw a lateral pass to Toney, who took it to the endzone for a touchdown.

However, the referees flagged Toney for being offside for the play. That took away the touchdown and the Bills got the ball shortly after and they managed to score a field goal and win the game. It was a controversial call by the refs and the Chiefs players were frustrated with the call. Toney talked about the play after the game and blamed the refs for not warning him about the offside prior to the play.

Whether it was, an inch, two inches, whatever in front of the ball, the referee got a job to let me know. He didn’t make no effort. You watch the video, he didn’t make no effort to say anything about no alignment. So apparently, he wanted to do that regardless. But like I said, we’re just going back to the details and just make sure we fine print everything. Unfortunately, they took back the greatest play the greatest tight end that played the game did."

The Chiefs will enter their game on Sunday on the back of two crushing losses. They are 8-5 so far this season and have made it difficult on themselves to grab the number one seed in the AFC. They will hope to win as many games as possible to have a chance at the top seed.

Patrick Mahomes had a simple message for his receiver Kadarius Toney

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their last game against the Buffalo Bills in heartbreaking fashion after their go-ahead touchdown late in the game was cancelled due to an offside penalty. WR Kadarius Toney, who scored the touchdown on a lateral from Travis Kelce, was the culprit who was flagged for the play. The Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes had a simple message for Toney after the game.

Mahomes told Toney after the game:

Just be you. That's all you can do in life or in this league. You're going to make mistakes. Stuff's going to happen in your life. How do you accept that adversity and get past it and do it the right way? You make one mistake, that's not going to define you. It's going to be how you respond to that mistake.

Toney has had a difficult season so far. He has dropped a lot of easy passes this season. The Chiefs will hope that he gets back to form before the postseason as he is a key member of their offense.
