Until Dak Prescott’s contract situation is resolved the Cowboys won’t move forward with the contract talk of CeeDee Lamb.

Lately, there have been quite a lot of headlines surrounding Dak Prescott’s hanging contract extension, as he enters the final year of his $160 million contract with no franchise tag or trade clause. This means, there is a likely possibility that the Dallas Cowboys star QB might not be with them, following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Though franchise owner Jerry Jones has been hesitant in offering Prescott a deserving contract with more money, executive Vice President Stephen Jones feels otherwise. During a recent appearance on Mad Dog Radio, Stephen clarified the Cowboys’ stance on Prescott’s extension, saying it’s the priority for them at the moment.
Absolutely. I mean, I totally think Dak can lead us to a championship. He does everything the right way. He’s certainly the leader of this football team. He keeps everybody motivated in the offseason. He’s got everybody working out and doing all the things that it takes to put in the work to give yourself every opportunity to win a championship.said Stephen Jones
As for his contract extension, the Cowboys EVP argued that a quarterback extension takes time and the Cowboys intend to agree on a satisfactory deal.
How the Cowboys are balancing Dak Prescott’s extension with team budget
On the contrary, Jeremy Fowler reported on Sunday that the contract talks between the Cowboys and Prescott are close to “nonexistent” or “passive.” Franchise Owner had previously asserted that offering Prescott a huge extension meant less money for the others, and they weren’t ready to risk it.

However, Fowler also reported that Prescott might enter the 2024 season without any deal, while the Cowboys figure out the new deal. It has also been reported that, until Prescott’s contract situation is resolved the Cowboys won’t move forward with the contract talk of CeeDee Lamb.
The three-time Pro Bowler is coming off his best season with the Cowboys as he led the league in passing touchdowns with 36. He eventually earned his Pro Bowl selection for the third time.
