Ex-NFL WR speaks highly of Drake Maye as he rates him better than Caleb Williams.

Ex-Falcons WR Harry Douglas snubs Caleb Williams by picking Drake Maye to have the best pro career of this year’s QB draft class

The NFL Draft is less than a month away and multiple teams are gearing up to get the best players in their teams. The analysts are debating about who the Bears will pick at the No. 1 spot this year- Caleb WilliamsDrake Maye, and Jayden Daniels being the favorites for the top three picks.

Though there are multiple debates on who will be the No.1 pick, a similar question is popping up about who will have the most successful pro career in this year’s draft class. The obvious answer to this will be Caleb Williams. The ex-USC QB is a former Heisman Trophy winner and many believe he could go down as the best No.1 pick in NFL history.

But going against general consensus, Harry Douglas, the former wide receiver of the Atlanta Falcons, claims that Drake Maye, in his eyes may have the best professional career in the league. Appearing on ESPN’s First Take, the former WR claimed that Drake Maye, because of his immense potential, has a high chance of becoming more successful.

He admitted that with better coaching and with him having ‘better-surrounding pieces’ around him, Maye could be a serious threat in the NFL.

I think potentially it could be Drake Maye, and here’s why I think that. When you look at all the quarterbacks in the draft right now, Drake Maye, in my opinion, is the rawest. When you look at his senior year in high school, he missed that year because of COVID. I think at the end of the day, he could have the best Pro career because of him having better-surrounding pieces than what he had at North Carolina. And also to be coached up properly. And so, I’m looking at Drake Maye.

Harry Douglas said.

Both Drake Maye and Caleb Williams hold insane stats from their college days. Though Williams had a poor run last season, his Heisman season is floating him up in the NFL scenario. On the other hand, Maye covered more than 3,500 yards with 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions last year.

Denver Broncos to draft Drake Maye as Russell Wilson’s replacement?

In the last two seasons, the Denver Broncos have suffered major setbacks due to its quarterback crisis. The signing of Russell Wilson did not go well with the team. The quarterback failed to make an impact under Sean Payton’s guidance and as a result, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Broncos have No. 12 overall draft pick left and the team is having a close eye on the quarterback. On his pro day, the team was present and watched his performance carefully. All the top management from the Broncos were present during the quarterback’s throwing session.

Realistically, if the Broncos are serious about drafting Maye, they’ll have to trade up in the draft. Maye is projected to be a top 5 pick. The Patriots, who hold the No.3 pick also want a quarterback and hence it could be a two-way fight between them. With uncertainty around Dan Jones, the Giants may also have an eye on the ex-North Carolina QB.
