Brock Purdy led the NFL in passer rating and QBR during the 2023 regular season.

“I don’t think you can get better!” Emmanuel Acho ready to pay 49ers QB Brock Purdy whatever he demands despite Super Bowl loss

Looks like Emmanuel Acho has been immensely impressed by the performance of the San Francisco 49ers’ young quarterback for leading his team to the Super Bowl in his second year. Even though Brock Purdy couldn’t succeed in a win against the future Hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes, he sure made an impression that can’t be forgotten so easily.

However, with the failure at the Super Bowl, all those pundits and fans who have been criticizing Purdy throughout the 2023-24 season, given his famous “game-manager” title, got a major ground to back their criticisms of the quarterback. Even though the 24-year-old led the NFL in passer rating and QBR during the regular season while clinching the playoff berth as the top-seeded NFC team, all that matters for the critics is he failed the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

But analyst Acho surely isn’t one of those pundits. He urged San Francisco to pay “whatever he [Brock Purdy] demanded” after a year as mentioned in his rookie contract with the franchise, which only has two seasons remaining.

Acho said on FS1’s “Speak”:

I think he earned it. I don’t think Brock [Purdy] could have played… Brock on the seasons, playoffs, and everything included– A minus. I don't think you can get better than Brock Purdy… So, I’m keeping Brock and I am finding myself another [Brandon] Aiyuk..I am paying him [Purdy] whatever is demanded.

Brock Purdy’s earnings from playoffs and the Super Bowl revealed

Apart from his usual salary, the second-year quarterback would be entitled to quite a handsome sum additionally through incentives. Last season, as he led the 49ers to the conference championship game, he made $162,000, the same as his teammates.

This season, for leading the team again to the NFC championship, he is entitled to receive $174,000 along with his teammates with an additional $89,000 for leading to the Super Bowl. If they had won the trophy, he would have been entitled to $164,000.

Moreover, as he was also an MVP candidate, he would probably be a Pro Bowl quarterback. At the Super Bowl, as the 49ers lost, Purdy would receive $44,000 while Mahomes from the winning team would get $88,000.
