Patrick Mahomes lacks winning desperation as per Whitlock.
Patrick Mahomes has charmed a lot of NFL enthusiasts with his magic. But he has to go long to bring everyone under his fold. There are people who, despite acknowledging his brilliance, keep questioning his desire to win every match. Jason Whitlock is one of them.
In the recent episode of ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock,’ the columnist questioned Mahomes’ intention to win every game. He even feels that Mahomes does not provide his 100% to win games. The veteran compared him with the NFL legend Tom Brady and said the latter had more desperation for his teams when it came to winning games.
I want to say this though about Patrick Mahomes what we are finding out. Talented, Hall of Fame quarterback. Probably one of the top ten quarterbacks to go down in history. Might be top five all time. But, he does not have Tom Brady's drive.
The former football player further said:
Winning is not as important to him as it was for Tom Brady. Some of that probably has to do with Mahomes was first-round pick, the Chiefs went up to get him. Look at the top ten of the draft. Tom Brady, a chip on his shoulder. Sixth-round picked, always had a chip on his shoulder.
What he meant was clear. t Brady was more dedicated to the team’s concern while missing on the hype getting drafted like Mahomes and that gave birth to the Pats legend’s determination. However, that did not prevent the columnist from acknowledging that Mahomes is also a great and probably one of the greatest to go down in the history of the league.
Whitlock feels Patrick Mahomes is satisfied
For Whitlock, both Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have got a mutual satisfaction. Mahomes, for him, had some unfinished business earlier and he has achieved that it. He has won the MVP and gave the Chiefs two Super Bowls.

The QB changed the dynamics of the league. When he started, the New England Patriots used to be the unrivaled. With six SB titles and an evergreen Tom Brady, they looked like the rulers of the league. But Mahomes provided a much-needed change. However his drive to win has calmed down as per Whitlock.
He has won two MVPs, two Super Bowls. Who is Patrick Mahomes competing with? No one. Tom Brady had Peyton Manning.
This season though Mahomes is not at his usual best. Despite the Chiefs standing at an 8-4 record, Mahomes numbers are far from his best. The WR problem isn’t helping his cause either.
