In one of the biggest shocks in the league, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the latter’s home ground At&T Stadium. It is a result that no one expected.

The Cowboys came into the game with an invincible record of 8-0 home record. Since the last season, the Cowboys had not lost a single game in this stadium. The Packers finally broke the invincible tag.

Following the shocking loss, Twitter (now known as X) was filled with jibes against the team and their head coach Mike McCarthy. There are rumors that the Cowboys may sack the head coach in the next season.

In this context, Pat McAfee came up with a suggestion. He suggested that the team could vouch for the NFL’s veteran Bill Belichick.

Holy sh*t… Bill Belichick is gonna be the head coach of the Cowboys isn’t he?

Following the loss, the Dallas Cowboys’ players were subjected to a lot of criticism. Especially Mike McCarthy whose playcalling was subjected to several denunciations. It persisted in the playoff game as well.

However, Dak Prescott took the side of his head coach after the game. The quarterback said,

He's been amazing. I don't know how there can be [questions about his status], but I understand the business.

Blaming himself for the loss and the exit Prescott further noted,

In that case, then there should be about me, as well, honestly. I mean, that guy -- I've had the season I've had because of him. This team has had the success that they've had because of him. And I understand it's about winning the Super Bowl, and that's the standard of the league and damn sure the standard of this place. I get it. But add me to the list in that case.

What is the case for Mike McCarthy in the Cowboys squad?

McCarthy has one year left in his contract. If Jerry Jones sacks him then he has to pay a hefty amount to the head coach. However, Jones remained mum about the prospective situation.

This NFL season witnessed a lot of coaching upsets this season. It all started with Josh McDaniel for the Las Vegas Raiders and then it was followed by a string of other coaches getting sacked. The latest to join the bandwagon was Bill Belichick who lost his Pats job after 24-long years.

Multiple speculations are indicating that Jones can ring the number of Belichick in the coming time. It is to be seen things take what turn after this shambolic defeat.
