The Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl this year.

Skip Bayless boldly expresses his ‘distrust’ in Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan following 49ers’ Super Bowl loss

Skip Bayless is not happy with Brock Purdy and his head coach, Kyle Shanahan. After the loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the veteran analyst exhibited his distrust for the two.

In the Skip Bayless show, the analyst claimed that Brock Purdy could never be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

The veteran analyst compared the Niners’ Shanahan-Purdy duo with the Kansas City Chiefs. He claimed that the Chiefs were in a much better position to win the championship. Shanahan fell short, and Purdy was not in a position to capitalize on the situation against the Chiefs.

San Francisco had Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy. I am sorry, more than ever I do not believe in Kyle Shanahan and I do not believe in Brock Purdy. I think they are really good people. I have never heard a bad word against Kyle Shanahan. The more I listened to Brock Purdy after the Super Bowl, the more I liked him off the field. I just do not believe in him as the top-tier Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

Bayless said

That’s not all; he further referred to a position where the 49ers were in the driver’s seat and could have capitalized on things to win the game. Mahomes threw a third-quarter interception, and the Niners launched attack after attack. It was expected that those attacks would bear fruit for them.

However, that did not happen. The Chief consumed the pressure well, and the Niners failed to score a touchdown. And ultimately, the Chiefs prevailed in the end. Bayless found that this was where Andy Reid schooled Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan made Steve Wilks the scapegoat

The 49ers are in a difficult situation after the loss against the Chiefs. A lot of things are doing the rounds in the camp.

As a result of the poor performance in the Super Bowl, Shanahan sacked the defensive coordinator, Steve Wilks. It was a decision that many smelled after the defeat.

As per the sources, Shanahan was not happy with the team’s defensive performance. He started doubting the ability of the DC after the postseason.

The performance of the Niners in the two playoff games created a problem for the HC, and after the game against the Chiefs, Shanahan sacked him. The Niners team was unhappy about how Patrick Mahomes openly got free space for his late TD drive.

There are multiple rumors going around regarding the defensive coordinator of the 49ers team. According to an article by SI, the team might promote Nick Sorensen as the new DC.
