Stephen Curry’s 2-Word Message For God Sister Cameron Brink As LA Sparks Rookie Makes Debut With A Win

Missing a Curry connection in their Lakers counterpart, the Los Angeles WNBA team chose Stephen Curry‘s god-sister as their #2 pick from the 2024 drafts.

While the move came as a surprise for many, Cameron Brink posted 11 points, 3 rebounds, and multiple crucial blocks in her debut game; all while bringing her godmother, Sonya Curry, to her feet. Now, as LA’s preseason battle with Seattle Storm (84-79) carves out a cheering debut for Brink, her god-brother falls next in the line to congratulate her and pray for a growing journey.

Stephen Curry recently took to his Instagram, reposting Cameron Brink’s features from the recent photoshoot with the WNBA franchise, which was captioned, “Year 1💛💜”.

While highlighting her recent feat, Steph wrote, “Go time,” hinting the 6’4 forward to unleash her dominance on the global stage. Brink looked like she belonged to the LA frontlines in her debut, albeit with initial struggles. With an off first half, she quickly sank her first WNBA trey in the third quarter and gave the Sparks some efficient shots near the basket.

Moreover, she protected the paint when it mattered the most, leaving the local fans with optimism about a steady future. One of Brink’s most highlight-worthy plays came from her block on Jade Melbourne. Melbourne crossed Layshia Clanderon and found an open lane for an easy lay. However, to her and fans’ surprise, Brink came out of nowhere to slam the shot in the front rows; all while shouting and screaming to ignite the fans.

Brink is a reason for celebration in Stephen Curry’s family

As soon as Cameron’s name was announced as part of the roster for the first time in the arena, the forward broke into a dance; prompting an elated chuckle by Stephen Curry’s mom. Sonya posted the snippet of her catching the debut from her sofa, captioning it “Letsssssssss gooooooo! 🙏🏼👏”.  As her moment went viral amongst fans, Brink responded with appreciation for the support after her game.

Moreover, Steph Curry’s sister Sydel Curry-Lee also hopped in on the celebrations. Tuning into the Sparks’ game early, Sydel posted Brink’s introductory walk to the court on her Instagram story.

Additionally, Seth Curry’s wife and Bucks head coach’s daughter, Callie Rivers Curry, also displayed her love to their extended family member. Having played competitive volleyball herself, Callie realizes the accomplishment of playing on the grand stage and put up multiple stories on her Instagram to radiate the same and congratulate the 22-year-old; posting her introductory dance and her massive block from the night.
