SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has been on a shopping spree and can now boast that he is downtown Shreveport’s second-largest property owner.

City leaders believe the recent purchases could make it much easier to attract even more investors.

“The fact that we’re talking about it today shows the importance,” said Downtown Development Authority Janie Landry.

Landry is excited about Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s recent purchases. He now owns more than ten properties, making him the second-largest property owner in downtown Shreveport.

“For one thing, it shows the significance of downtown. It also shows to other potential investors the importance of downtown Shreveport, said Landry.

Landry says Jackson’s willingness to buy properties quickly and at market value will most likely motivate potential investors to buy real estate.

“I think overall it helps individuals that may be wanting to purchase a property in downtown Shreveport, that they can say to themselves if Curtis Jackson wants to be in downtown Shreveport, then maybe I do too,” said Landry.

Landry says Jackson could soon own the most real estate in downtown Shreveport, and she’s looking forward to the improvements.

“These properties that “50 Cent” has purchased, some of them have been vacant for years. So we’re really excited about the potential that this opens to other properties that have been vacant in downtown or underutilized.” Landry.
