Gunman’s escape route revealed as police update Charlie Kirk killer

Fury at CNN for calling ‘transgender messages’ on Charlie Kirk assassin’s bullet ‘cultural phrases’: Live updates

CNN has sparked fury among Americans for avoiding reference to the ‘transgender messages’ found on bullets inside the rifle used by Charlie Kirk’s assassin.

The left-wing outlet instead referred to the engravings as ‘a range of phrases related to cultural issues’ to avoid confronting what was really inscribed.

The Wall Street Journal first revealed the messages, based on a notice sent to the Bureau, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agents.

Though the exact words on the bullets were not given, the WSJ explicitly described them as being ‘engraved with transgender and antifascist ideology’.

People on social media have blasted CNN’s reporting as ‘shameless’ and ‘dangerous’ while accusing them of ‘gaslighting’ the public.

Father-of-two Kirk, 31, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, and the gunman is still at large.

Two men were briefly taken into custody after the shooting, but investigators later confirmed they were not suspects and released them.

Breaking:FBI says weapon recovered in Kirk murder probe

The FBI has recovered the firearm they believe was used in the killing of Charlie Kirk.

Robert Bohls, special agent in charge of the bureau’s Salt Lake City field office, said agents recovered a ‘high-powered bolt action rifle’ from a wooded area.

According to Bohls, the assassin – who has since been described as a male of college age – fled to the wooded area after the shooting.

Beau Mason, Utah’s public safety chief, said that investigators have ‘good video footage’ of the suspect.

They said the gunman managed to blend in with students on the college campus, having just arrived shortly before noon.

After making the fatal shot, authorities say he jumped from the roof of the building, before fleeing the campus into a neighborhood.

Bohls said that the weapon was sent to an FBI lab for further analysis, with officials also finding palm and footwear prints on the scene

The agent added that the FBI has received more than 130 tips since Kirk was gunned down.
