‘I Made the Mistake of Reading Comments’: Camille Winbush Claps Back at Bernie Mac Jokes After the Actress Reveals She Started an OnlyFans Account
Actress Camille Winbush, who gained fame in her role on “The Bernie Mac Show,” addressed the controversy surrounding her OnlyFans announcement on Feb. 2, after people joked about Bernie Mac “turning over his grave” because she decided to join the content subscription service.
The service, which is often affiliated with adult-rated content, was initially formed to help creators earn money from those who subscribe to their page.

Winbush, who told her followers she could potentially regret posting the statement, said although she is grateful for the support, she couldn’t ignore the backlash because she is “human.”
“I made the mistake of reading comments about my ‘fan’ announcement. Overall, the majority were supportive, and I appreciate that. I really do. But I’m human and of course the ones that stick out to me were the negatives.”
Winbush added her sole reason for creating the page was because she wanted to. The actress also clapped back at those who used the name of Bernie Mac — who played her TV uncle on the hit Fox sitcom — in vain. The comedian, who lived with the inflammatory disease sarcoidosis, passed away in 2008 following complications from pneumonia.

“So let me be clear – I am not broke or desperate for money. Bernie, God rest his soul, is not turning over in his grave. STOP saying that. Even if meant as a joke, it is far from funny. I do not need to call Tyler Perry for a job. I’m not spending thousands of dollars on school to get a degree so that I can get a ‘real job’, whatever that means. I will not now, or ever be doing porn. YouTube does not equal an automatic payday. Working in Hollywood has never been my endgame. Hell, to not have to work at all is my goal. I made an OF because I wanted to, not out of necessity. I used to make life choices based on what people would think of me.”
Winbush concluded her “TedTalk” by saying she is a grown woman even though she has a youthful appearance.
“And I’m aware I still look young. But I will literally be 31 years old in seven days and I have to start living for me. If you don’t like my choices… 🤷🏾♀️ Thanks for coming to my TedTalk. Good night.”

Winbush revealed earlier this week that she was joining OnlyFans by sharing a TikTok video on her Instagram page with her “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” co-star and childhood friend Renee Olstead. The 30-year-old former child star was seen admiring Olstead as she posed for the camera before joining in on the action.
The recording also included a snippet of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé. The actress disclosed in the caption she is only using the service to do various things such as “drop skincare routines” and host live Q&A sessions.
“🚨 Yes, you heard that right. I have joined OF!🚨 But I’m doing it my way. I’ll be saying the things I really want to say, singin’ & dancing, and sharing exclusive content. But don’t think it’s just for the men. I’m finally dropping the skincare routine, I’ll be doing regular live sessions with Q&A’s, special guests, and most importantly- I’ll be able to talk to and connect with you one on one. I want to hear from you so come thru! -CandidlyCam. My way = minimal nudity. So if that’s what you’re expecting sorry not sorry to disappoint 🤷🏾♀️ .”
