Shock for Dem Rep Jasmine Crockett as Famed Progressives FIRE Back Over ‘Hot Wheels’ Wheelchair Slur—The Controversial Remarks That Have Left Everyone Stunned and Divided!

Representative Jasmine Crockett has come under fire for her comments referring to

DemocratTexas Republican Governor Greg Abbott – and even progressives aren’t coming to her defense.

Crockett made the remarks during a speech at a Human Rights Campaign event, where she referred to Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as ‘Hot Wheels.’

The comment has drawn widespread criticism for being ableist and Crockett was accused of using a slur.

The debacle was discussed on The View on Wednesday and even the panel’s resident progressives criticized Crockett for her comments.

Sara Hines said that she expected inflammatory language from representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene, but argued that Crockett was ‘better’ than her controversial remarks.

Hines added that she wished Crockett would apologize for the comments and that they overshadowed the rest of her speech.

Even Joy Behar, who is a resident liberal panelist, admitted that Crockett should have left the jokes to comedians.

However, Behar did point out that conservatives continued to support Donald Trump after he mocked a reporter for his disability at a rally in 2015.

‘You have to be so careful with what you say,’ Whoopi Goldberg agreed.

Sunny Hostin also offered a rare critique of Crockett, emphasizing that no one should be mocked, including those who are disabled.

‘I admire Jasmine Crockett. I do think she’s an effective messenger, I think this was a mistake, and I think that when you make a mistake you have to own it, you have to do that because it gives you more credibility,’ she said.

Hostin added that she didn’t know that Abbott was disabled, but since Crockett is a representative from his state, she can’t claim ignorance as an excuse.

Crockett was met with hesitant applause when she first made the remarks, telling the audience afterward that she was going off script.

When referencing Abbott, Crockett quipped, ‘Ya’ll know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, c’mon now, and the only thing hot about him is that he’s a hot a** mess, honey.’

Abbott has used a wheelchair since 1984 after he was left paralyzed when an oak tree fell on him at the age of 26.

Crockett has doubled down on the comments, clarifying on social media that she wasn’t referring to Abbott’s disability when she called him, ‘Governor Hot Wheels.’

‘I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition. I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable,’ she wrote on X.

‘Literally, the next line I said was that he was a “Hot A** Mess,” referencing his terrible policies,’ she continued.

Crockett also pointed out that she was ‘appalled’ that Trump supporters were outraged with her, given the president’s history ‘racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities.’

‘Finally, this is yet another distraction. Instead of obsessing over and hanging on to my every word, maybe my political foes should focus on doing the work of the people who elected us to improve their lives,’ she concluded.

Despite Crockett’s insistence that her controversial remarks were not in reference to Abbott’s wheelchair, panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin noted on The View that the representative has used similar language multiple times.

Crockett has previously joked about Abbott ‘rolling’ places, sharing a post last week that said the governor was ‘rolling up to the White House.’

She also used the phrase when Abbott was running for re-election, writing on X at the time that his opponent, Beto O’Rourke was ‘rolling around the state,’ and questioned, ‘Where is Abbott rolling to?’

Abbott spoke out about the comments during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, telling the anchor, ‘It’s another day and another disaster by the Democrats.’

‘The reality is they have no vision, no policy. They have nothing to sell but hate, and Americans are not buying it.’

The widespread backlash has even prompted talks of a censure against Crockett, which is a formal reprimand for members of the House.

Texas Republican Representative Randy Weber filed a censure resolution against Crockett on Wednesday.

House representatives will have to vote on the censure and it will formally be filed if a majority agrees with Weber’s resolution.
