VANNA White was kindly escorted to the Wheel of Fortune stage by Ryan Seacrest in a sneak peek of the show’s new season on Friday.
Ryan, 49, and Vanna, 67, locked arms as they headed off to film their first-ever episode together.

Vanna posted the BTS video from Wheel of Fortune‘s upcoming season premiere on her Instagram feed.
“Getting ready for the first show!” she declared in her makeup chair.
Vanna got the works, including false eyelashes (much to her chagrin), and a lip liner.
She looked gorgeous and ageless as usual in a long gown.
The video switched to black and white to keep the color of her season premiere look a secret.
Suddenly, the American Idol host stepped into the room, donning a full suit and tie.
“You ready to go?” she asked him.
“I think so,” he nervously said back, Let’s do it- come on!”
The new dynamic duo walked down the steps to the Wheel of Fortune stage.
“All dolled up and ready to go!💄#Season42 @wheeloffortune,” Vanna captioned the clip.
‘WEIRD WITHOUT PAT!’
In the comments, fans expressed excitement about tuning in but were still getting used to not having Pat Sajak.
“I’m so glad you stayed, Vanna! I know Ryan must be, as well. Anxious for the new season,” one comment read.
“I hope the old shows still run as well this will take some getting used to! We miss you Pat,” wrote another.
“You look amazing. Pat will be missed. No one can fill his shoes,” wrote a third.
Wheel of Fortune host timeline
Premiering in 1975, the beloved game show has had a few different iconic hosts in its nearly 50 seasons.
1975 – 1981 : Chuck Woolery was the original host of Wheel of Fortune until he departed in 1981.
1981 – June 2024: Pat Sajak took over and became a beloved Wheel of Fortune host for over 40 years.
September 2024: Ryan Seacrest was declared the newest host as Sajak announced his retirement.
“It’ll be weird without Pat! But Ken Jennings is doing a good job on Jeopardy, so I suppose we’ll get used to it!! Glad Vanna is staying!!!” wrote a fourth.
‘COLD SHOULDER’
Meanwhile, the sweet chemistry between Vanna and Ryan comes as there have been claims about bad blood between Ryan and Pat.
Pat surprised fans by announcing he wasn’t completely exiting—he will be hosting Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in the fall to fulfill his contract.
Moreover, he will serve as a producer for the next three years to oversee the smooth transition.
But apparently, that transition isn’t going very smoothly to begin with, a source told The Mirror this week.
According to The Mirror, Pat has been giving Ryan the “cold shoulder” after he was “forced to retire.”
The source claimed Pat has not offered Ryan any hosting tips, “He’s too busy having fun with all this newfound free time he’s got.”
“There’s no denying there’s a bitter satisfaction behind his motives… clearly resentful of the way he was treated and then kicked off the show.”
“Ryan can reach out to Pat if he wants but asking isn’t getting,” the source adds.
“Pat’s always going to be busy, or he’ll brush Ryan off with a neutral, ‘You got this’.
“When Ryan takes over, Pat’s going to be watching and enjoying seeing how he fares in the hot seat which is full of challenges and not nearly as easy as he might think.”
The source also claimed Ryan is doing everything he can to win over Vanna and the staff.
He’s “in full Mr. Nice Guy mode, putting on the charm, lavishing Vanna and everyone else on the show with his homemade cooking, bringing treats,” they claimed.
He’s specifically “making a huge effort with Vanna and trying to win favor by taking her out to dinner and trying to get through any lingering tensions they’ve got.”
‘FRIENDS ON AND OFF CAMERA’
Before the Pat/Ryan feud rumors, there were rumors of tension between Ryan and letter-turner Vanna.
Last month, reports surfaced claiming that Vanna was already considering retiring before her new contract ends in 2026.
According to The Daily Mail, she and Ryan were said to be struggling to “jibe,” to the point that she is considering quitting early.
“Vanna is retiring from the show when her contract ends, but there is a part of her that wants to walk away sooner,” an insider told the outlet.
“She just doesn’t jibe with Ryan like she did with Pat, and no one really ever expected her to. There is just no way that she possibly could.”
But Vanna set the record straight on Instagram soon after.
She posted a photo of her and the new game show lead sitting at a dinner table together enjoying a meal.
The pair smiled at the camera as they held up forks and smiled.
“Friends on and off camera,” she captioned the post.
Wheel of Fortune’s upcoming season is expected to premiere on September 9, 2024.
